calamaties abound! oh dear.

So yesterday was interesting. I'd slept over at the refugee's place (ex-Acacians) and was woken up to Glenn yelling "POTTER!! GET YOUR CAR OFF THE STREET! STREET CLEANING!!" Potter mumbled that he was parked in the driveway, not the street, but then I remembered that I had driven back the night before and had, in fact, parked on the street. So he ran downstairs to move his car because the street sweepers were on their way. Unfortunately, Brian's car was also on the street. And Brian wasn't there. He had slept over at a friend's after a night of drinking. Sooo after many phone calls tracking him down, Potter went over to pick him up, because we couldn't find a spare key.
So Potter left. And Robin and I just sat in his window (facing the street) watching the guys stand there talking. Soon the pulled up a tow truck, but still waited for a little while. Mind you it should have only taken Potter 10 minutes to get there and back. After 15 minutes, I started freaking out when they towing guys started writing down plates and tickets and such. Called Potter. He'd left his phone here. Call Brian. Phone dead. They start hooking the car to the tow truck. They start pulling it up. After about 20 minutes, Brian's car was totally on the bed of the truck when he and Potter drove up. We watched as he went up, begged and pleaded, and then walked back, clearly unsuccessful.
Once they got inside, I asked Potter what had happened, seeing as it wasn't a traffic-y time of day. It turns out he got in an accident. The person parked on the side in front of him opened their door, and Potter practically took it off. Alskjdlfjsldkjfljsdlfj. He's going through insurance nonsense now. But his car's not drivable, something is dragging and scraping and he's scared he'll blow a tire. Soooo yeah. Welcome to my life.
In other not so wonderful news, my project was not selected to go on to the competition. But on the plus side, Meghan's did and she, Monica, and I have formed a team. Should be a good time. After 2 weeks (once the competition is due) we'll go back to our own projects, too.
Oh! And then this morning, Meghan called me (she's my next door neighbor) telling me that Cat's car was about to get towed and she should get on that. So I called Cat, she freaked, but apparently saved it, because her car was there when I got back. Bad week for cars in Troy, I guess....
Anyway, I have a paper to write for tomorrow on timber framing in America up to the 19th century and have yet to start.....so off to the library I go.
Ciao!
